Texas Stadium is in Irving, which is closer to DAL, and so is the hotel. The new Cowboy Stadium (don't know if it has a name yet) is closer to DFW, but not quite ready...
Either way, I can't wait for Bush's final ride in a VC-25, and not for political reasons (although...). I just want to see that plane land at DAL, if Dallas is indeed where he'll move to once out of office.

The library is going in at SMU and Laura Bush has been several times in the Park Cities. The Dallas Morning News had an article in the housing section a few months ago about a 16,000 sqr ft mansion being built with reinforced walls surrounding the property. Strictly speculation its being built for GW.

I'm typing this from Irving. I can get from Texas Stadium to DFW In'tl WAY quicker than to Love Field.
I prefer to fly out of Love, but that's because it's a bit more low-key than DFW. But DFW and Texas Stadium are both ON highway 183, whereas KDAL is kinda a bit removed from the highway, at the end of a 'ceremoniously extended' Cedar Springs, etc etc.
I'm not quite senior enough to pick up very many of these charters. Maybe next year! bigthumbsup
HAL - how do you guys fit the Seahawk and Raiders charters into your 767 scheduling? I thought you guys were pretty tight on 767 capacity. To have an aircraft fly to DAL and sit around for 2-3 days....doesn't that disrupt things

We have some space in the schedule; enough to run a charter on the weekends, but really not enough to do an extra daily flight somewhere. One way to have extra capacity now is that we don't do any heavy checks on the 767's during the fall/winter season, so that normally frees up enough space for us to do the charters. Also, if we have to, we'll occasionally cancel one of the flights to a city where we have more than one flight a day - SEA, LAS, LAX, in order to have an aircraft available. These cancellations go in the schedule months in advance (since we know what days we'll have to fly the teams) so it's not like we're bumping passengers off of flights that are already booked. This particular charter to DAL is on the ground for only about 24 hours too, so it's not a huge disruption.
One smooth landing is skill. Two in a row is luck. Three in a row and someone is lying.
