In the thread about New Ibaraki Airport in Japan, Ikramerica wrote a wonderful Haiku.

Quote:
Spring welcomes much rain
Narita closes often
Try Ibaraki!

We get really serious in Civil Aviation and rarely have good creative fun. So here is the challenge. Write a Haiku about your favorite airport, airline past or present or aircraft.
Remember your Haiku rules for English.
• Use of three (or fewer) lines of 17 or fewer syllables;
• Use of a season word (kigo);
• Use of a cut or kireji (sometimes indicated by a punctuation mark) to contrast and compare, implicitly, two events, images, or situations.
(Easily put 5 syllables- 7 syllables- 5 syllables.)

Its cold there ya know
Deicing all day long then
Minneapolis

Cross-winds often strong
Now Checkered wall comes up fast!
Remember Kai Tak

Let's see the creative spirit of A.net!

Yes...I am not a KIX fan. Let's Japanese Aviation!

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

(Mine depend on how you pronounce "hour" but it's technically one syllable)

Wait for two long hours.
Destination still distant.
JFK delay.

Six-hour connection
Barely make it to your flight.
Typical Heathrow.

(Can you tell I don't like waiting for a flight???)

One bus, two buses
Yet another freaking bus

A lone butterfly
Flitting past Newark Airport
Creates a ground stop

Chicago snow falls
So does the arrival rate

Four Seasons of Flying

Spring is time for love
Mile-high club membership
Is calling for me

Summer sun all year
Drinking mai tais at the gate
Missed my flight to Maui

Leaves are falling now
Passengers not so frequent
Still, the fares are high

Snow storm has me trapped
Flight was delayed, now cancelled
Reimbursement sucks

The Woes of Flying

Flight left gate on time
But I have yet to take off
Damn you ATC!

I felt really parched
US charges for water
So I died of thirst

I checked in two bags
On arrival, they're not there
Where the hell are they?!

Economy sucks
Business class bed is so-so
Slept like log in first
