Straight from UAL - not sure if you've included the Dec. additions.

New Configurations -- We expect one B767 and two B747’s in Nov, and three B767’s and three B747’s in Dec. Routes opening up in November include SFO-SYD and in December ORD-CDG and LAX-SYD. --

I've got two 763s and two 744s so far for December (the one with the asterisk are in process or due out any day now) they should be able to get one more of each done this month but I'm not sure which ships are going in yet.

Not a problem, the 737 retirement is going to continue too be fairly rapid from what I understand till the summer when it will level off around 20-30 aircraft until next fall when the remaining ships are retired. I know they kept a few more 737s around then they had originally planned in order to help with the Ted repaint.

UA has not (or had not up until the Ted repaint) been taking aircraft out of service simply to paint them as rapidly as possible instead they are painting them as they need to be painted. The last time UA changed liveries it took 6 or 7 years to repaint the entire fleet. If you count the Ted fleet into the mix UA has repainted about 50% of its fleet in a little less then 4 years.

Didnt NW and UA introduce new liverys around the same time? There are only a few NW planes, Airbus', that are floating around in old colors. Seems like NW did it quicker.

I'm not sure, because I haven't seen them in a while, but I don't think 543 or 545 have winglets yet. If they do, they haven't changed the aircraft numbers yet to 5900 series.

It's not a race....  Yeah sure

UA repaints its aircraft when they need it, If NW does it differently then good for them, not to mention that UAs fleet is larger then NWs.

According to the koolaiders site there are 27 or so aircraft left in the bowling shoe livery.

When does UA plan to complete the entire retrofit of international aircraft?

Quoting United1 (Thread starter):
UA Livery Update – Aircraft in the current blue/white colors including the 16 Ted aircraft that have been repainted into mainline colors.

What percentage of aircraft that are being retained (minus the 737's leaving the fleet) have been painted in the new livery? In what year did they introduce the new Livery? When do they plan on completing the entire fleet?

Quoting Klkla (Reply 15):
When does UA plan to complete the entire retrofit of international aircraft?

The original date was going to be year end 2009 however that has slipped to sometime in 2010 due to the 777s needing to be retrofitted with new Y class seats to accommodate the new PTVs. The 763/744 fleet will be done by early/mid 2009, the 777 fleet should be done by mid 2010.

Quoting Klkla (Reply 15):
What percentage of aircraft that are being retained (minus the 737's leaving the fleet) have been painted in the new livery?

As of today 36% when you take out the 737s however that number jumps to 47% when you count the Ted 320s which should finish repaint in the next few months.

Quoting Klkla (Reply 15):
In what year did they introduce the new Livery?

Feb 2004

Quoting Klkla (Reply 15):
When do they plan on completing the entire fleet?

Good question, the last time UA changed liveries it took 6 or 7 years to repaint the entire fleet, UA is not rushing to repaint the fleet (except for the Ted planes) and only repaints the aircraft when they need it.

Most Airlines will now repaint most of their aircraft when it comes time for a heavy check.
Makes more sense to do the heavy check while installing new seats along with getting new paint on, then just pulling a aircraft out of service for paint and no new seats.
However I think it is a waste of money when a Airline knows a Dc-9 or Boeing 737 is going to be retired, but yet they paint it in the new colors. Then one month later it is sitting in the desert getting a sun tan with its engines removed.

26 United1 : Cool thanks keeping up with the 737 fleet these days is not easy
27 AWACSooner : This livery has been out for HOW LONG now...and they've only gotten this far? Jeez...this has got to be the slowest repaint operation of all time.
28 United1 : asked and answered....
29 United787 : Thank you for keeping up my list and adding the winglets and interior lists! With the retirement of the 737 fleet and the end of TED, this process see
30 United1 : The way it was explained to me is that the 777s IFE system can't be split between F/J and Y so new PTVs had to be outfitted in Y however the ones for
31 United1 : Here are the updated Winglet and Ineriro fleet list I will update the livery list a little later... B752s with winglets (all in new colors) 517, 518,
32 United787 : Well I hope the second step is adding PTVs to the 744 Y class. I understand there are cost, weight and space issues but being on 8+ hour flight witho
33 LAXintl : As part of the new seats, UA will switch to a 3-3-3 config instead of current 2-5-2 That was the plan. Retrofits were stopped to conserve CapEx spend
34 The777Man : Very good news!! The777Man
35 DC8FanJet : It isn't a race, nor is it a priority. Paint on an aircraft is mostly a maintenance issue, and as it has been addressed over and over on A-net, paint
36 United787 : Terrible news. I love the 2-5-2 because I have always been able to grab the 2 with my wife and never had to sit anywhere in the 5. And even if I did,
37 United_Fan : So,is there any news on Channel 9 being blocked by pilots, still? So,is UA getting some of their planes painted in ROW? I see them coming and going fr
38 Joeljack : It was on with all 4 of my flights last week. A 733, 757, A320 and 763 (domestic config)
39 Drerx7 : Yep - channel 9 was on on my 757 monday - UA1184 DEN-IAH.
40 DeltaL1011man : What is the update on them maybe keeping the 6 744s?
41 C767P : N553UA is in new paint.
42 The777Man : Will the two-class 777s also be switched to 3-3-3 ? The777Man
43 United1 : Good question....any idea on what the manufacturer/type of the seats will be?
44 LH744 : Lots of TED-aircraft have been repainted: N414UA, N439UA, N441UA, N448UA, N452UA, N479UA and N480UA now all wear new blue colours.
45 United1 : UA Livery Update A319 (4/55-7%): 801, 802, 803, 804 A320 (31/97-32%): 403, 411, 412, 414, 417, 420, 423, 426, 438, 439, 441, 444, 445, 446, 448, 452,
46 Olympic472 : Did UA consider changing the 777 Y cabin to a 3-4-2 config? The 2-5-2 config gives an exaggerated cramped feel with the middle 5 seats. The proposed 3
47 AAH732UAL : UA doesn't care about passenger comfort as much as they do about seats to sell. 2-5-2 will be around to stay, I guarantee it. Plus I don't think 3-4-
48 Post contains links LH744 : Apparently N791UA isn´t painted in the new colours. There is a picture from January 6th from LHR http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6458486 sh
49 United1 : 2*5*2 is becoming 3*3*3 I guarantee it.... AFAIK UA (and for that matter any airline) is not considering 2*4*3. Cool thank you....
