I had the chance to interview VX CEO David Cush yesterday at the opening of their new facilities at LAX. I've posted the whole transcript at The Cranky Flier, but here are some highlights.
*BOS growth is coming from a couple recent deliveries as well as some subleased aircraft returning to them soon. Then they'll be at 28 airplanes and won't grow for awhile.
*They have 2 planes with Myrtle Beach Direct Air that come off sublease in 2010
*Vision is effectively to be the low cost, superior product provider
*They're happy with Main Cabin Select and say that they're filling them quite nicely - 60% of them are paid in advance and the rest are upgrades. Average ticket price of people sitting in MCS is double that of coach.
*He said they could have gone into ORD Terminal 5, but it would have cost too much and they would have had to bus people during peak times

I keep trying to get a handle on what DC is like and exactly what's going on with his airline. Every little bit of information helps. Very interesting to watch the evolution of this company in this crazy industry...
It's nice to get an update on the always-elusive VX fleet-count! I'll be very anxiously watching to see which stations, if any, are enhanced and expanded in 2009.
