Thanks for posting. I still prefer the old NWA colours, but its always nice to see a new livery on a 747.
I wonder why they chose N665US as its one of the very last 747s which got the silver livery. Is that basic fuselage colour cream white?

Not enough red on the tail.

Is there an "Operated by Northwest Airlines" sticker anywhere? After all, the plane's not necessarily Delta's; it's still flying as Northwest.

This may be fine on on a smaller aircraft, but there's simply too much white on the 744.
Perhaps they could have raised the blue portion on the fuselage higher?

My guess is Delta's livery will look better on the 333s.

PM : That's a damn good colour scheme. Sorry to see it go...
Flighty : Looks like a freighter. It's no UA paint job.
Lijnden : If I have to grade the livery for the DL 744 it would receive a 5 out of 10. It is too simple. The NW livery is better and would receive a 7.5 out of
JayDub : I think it looks simple, clean, and professional...which essentially covers what Delta is going for these days. Those three attributes are, given a li
Richcandy : The word "Delta" could be a bit larger and maybe they could of done something with the wing-flips. However it looks clean and very classic.
Dennys : A 744 for an American Flag Carrier is more than a Chrismas Gift !! dennys
Pilotboi : It may get a deep cleaning in DTW, but the interiors have not been changed. This will happen sometime in the future.
Post contains links Sokol : That looks good I like it but Delta logo little bit small and little bit high. Here is a link you will see bigger logo on B744 and it looks little bit
Virginblue4 : OMG what a beauty! Looks fantastic! Jordan
BAC111 : Better than I expected, but still no match for the current NW livery. White is just too overdone on many carriers today.
777fan : Frankly, I don't understand how you can laud one (CO), and not like the other two (DL and UA). All three are, in many ways, pretty similar (particula

CodyKDiamond : Will it ever do LAX-DTW or LAX-ATL?
Post contains links Pilotboi : See reply 18. The routes for the next few days are listed. And it will fly under the NORTHWEST call sign, as it's still being operated by Northwest u

Evan767 : Did you mean to slip in an 18DEC somewhere into there?
Mayor : Lets see, they changed it in 1997, after 35 years.....again in 2002(?) and then in 2007. Hardly bi-annual. Except for AA, I can't think of any US air
JetJeanes : wow those engines look small!!!! They are going to have to bring it to atlanta and show it off butttttt can any of the delta gate handle it,,, the old
Pilotboi : Close, it goes 1962, 1997, 2000, 2007. And NW is 1970, 1989, 2003.
EMBQA : You would not give the first 'widget' its own date...?? I know it didn't last long. I was on my way out to Leading Edge-AMA to start my airlines wint
IliriBDL : I think it looks great. Any chance they use one from either ATL or DTW to Europe? (FRA, or any other city it demands the 747)
Pilotboi : Actually it is on my timeline (http://www.koolaiders.com/files/DL_Timeline.png) I just chose not to mention it before. The first widget was in 1959.
Beertrucker : As far as the blue on the belly. I have looked at other planes of Delta's and they did get it right. I know you want to see things change but that is
EMBQA : Yea, I thought I read once the 'turned' widget was only on the DC-9's.......
RJ111 : They've had 4 within the last 12 years. That's a massive amount by anyone's standards. How many have SQ, BA, AF, LH etc etc etc had in that time? The

Bobnwa : If you count the various tails, BA has had a few.
Airproxx : Gorgeous
Mayor : The widget livery was always "bare metal belly" so, I'm not sure what your talking about. Besides we were talking about livery "changes", weren't we?
Acey559 : By my count, I get: Ron Allen Wavy Gravy Citgo By my fingers, that makes three.
Mayor : That's the way I learned it in school, also.
RJ111 : That's because you are counting the number of times that DL have changed livery in the last 12 years and not the number of liveries they have had in t

Pilotboi : It's not supposed to be straight - that's how the livery was designed.
Burnsie28 : The DELTA part looks horrible way too small, they should have done it like the one guy did on his mock up with larger DL titles between doors 1 and 2
Mayor : No, what he said was "bi-annual livery CHANGE". Therefore, we're discussing changes, right? Not according to his post...........
RJ111 : Well there was obviously a misunderstanding somewhere along the line there. So sorry about all that.
Mayor : Me, too........I just get a bit upset when posters slam DL for their livery changes like it's only them that do it.

Patches : Looks alright, but like others have said: NEED MORE RED ON THE TAIL! thats the least that Delta could have done for the legecy of NW for criss sacks!
ContinentalEWR : Kind of bland. The D E L T A titles should be bigger and slightly lower, IMHO. But cool to see the Delta 747.
Pilotboi : We've gone over this 200,000 times. DL is not going to change or modify the livery just to please some NW fans. The whole point is to have one image,

ChiefNWA : Anything from GLH yet?
AIR757200 : Saw it this morning in DTW, about 8a. Looks very sharp!

Burnsie28 : To add do you seriously think Delta or most airlines would change anything to please its employees.
Breaker1011 : Actually, I do - as I actually worked for an airline and bore witness to such miracles with some frequency.
