I too am happy to see an old Diesel 9 in DL's latest livery, but I'm REALLY looking forward to the A319's, A320's and I can't wait to see the A330!

Kind of fitting that the airline that introduced the DC-9 to mainline service will be the one that ends it. 43 years and counting. Has to be some kind of record. If Donald W Douglas were alive today I could just see the smile on his face as he shook his head in disbelief that its lasted this long in mainline service

I'm not sure if ship 9876 is the correct DC9, as it appears it's been flying through the system pretty consistently, with no stops in GLH.

5639 on the other hand, has this routing over the next few days:

15DEC: GLH-MSP
18DEC: MSP-DTW
18DEC: DTW-PHX
18DEC: PHX-MSP
18DEC: MSP-RSW

For those interested, our 747-400, 6305, has this routing:

15DEC: DTW-NRT-HKG
17DEC: HKG-NRT-LAX-NRT-PVG
19DEC: PVG-NRT-MSP-NRT-MNL
21DEC: MNL-NRT-DTW

...Not sure if the dates line up (intl. date line can be confusing)...

Yes, it is/was.

Just a guess, but I imagine that we'll see the left-over bowling shoes getting the fast-track treatment, pretty much as DL did with the Ron Allen and song a/c when they introduced the Citgo widget.

The other remaining bowling shoes (I'm indebted to Pilotboi for this information, supplied in another NW livery thread), are:

----A319s----
N340NB
N341NB
N343NB
N344NB
N348NB
N349NB
N351NB
N353NB
N354NB
N355NB
N357NB
N360NB

----A320s----
N311US
N315US
N318US
N331NW
N371NW
N372NW
N373NW
N374NW
N375NC
N376NW

----742Fs---- (if they ever do get repainted)
N619US
N629US
N639US
N640US

Plus all but one of the Saab 340s under Mesaba.

Everything else is now in the metallic "nwa" look. Apart from N665US, of course.
