Kuwait! That's an interesting destination. Is there much demand between Singapore and Kuwait? Kuwait Airways used to fly to Singapore I think not too long ago.

Will SQ have fifth freedom rights between AUH and KWI? That could be the reason for the extension of the route!!
Well, that and the fact that possibly the timing of the return flight had the plane sitting at AUH for too long...
Best of luck to SQ!!

Thanks for the clarification. I just never boarded one, anyway I stand corrected.

Quoting QatarA340 (Reply 9): That is good news! Do you think DOH will ever be added to SQ's wide network? Possibly they could make an extention of BAH-DOH-SIN or something...
DOH could be a possibility as SQ have held several meetings with airport officials over there to discuss their Mid-East expansion. I would assume that if AUH improves, and KWI shows good results, SQ would look at more destinations in the region.

Singapore recently signed an OSA with Kuwait. If KWI proves to be viable for SQ, we may eventually see them extending their flights beyond KWI to points in the US or Europe.

Maybe SQ should make the SIN-IAH stop KWI or DXB instead of DME.
When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No-one has ever collided with the sky.

Singapore has also just signed an FTA with the Gulf states, and this is only bound to increase business travel further in the coming times between the regions. I can imagine SQ doing either SIN-DXB-DOH or SIN-AUH-DOH sooner than later - may be when the A330s come in.
Quoting SOBHI51 (Reply 1): Well if they will still use those regional 777 with old F and C seats then thanks but no thanks i will travel with Etihad.Better seats in both F and C
I wouldn't be surprised if this happens to be the general sentiment of most travelers. The quality of products across SQ's fleet has started to differ quite a bit, and as I discussed in a recent SQ brand analysis, the experience on the 744s and 772s can be quite a shocker. Even the crew dreads flying these SQ planes these days. Any idea when SQ is getting the rest of A380s and A330s? These should certainly come as a relief.
Airlines are in the service business, not transport. Brand matters...

That is a good news indeed, SQ will be the 3rd airline from the far east. TG, CA are currently flying to KWI on a regular schedule. Looking forward to see more airlines at KWI.

Really glad that DXB-CAI-DXB are back...I guess the dedicated SIN-CAIs weren't doing too well (most likely very low yield). CAI-DXB and vice versa are very dense city pairs.
