The 757 flew right over me in the employee parking lot as it was landing in DTW on Tuesday morning coming in from GLH, or wherever it was painted. Nothing too spectacular since DL already has 57s painted in new colors. It just looks shiny now. It's ship 5639

Just checked it is in thread about the DC9. The 320 looks ok actually, better than the Dc9 and 747 in DL livery. I think the 330 would ok too. I mean DL livery is rather boring and simple so how much does one really expect.
Actually, that is one of NW's newer 5600-series 757s. I would agree that the 5500-series 757s are falling apart inside, however, the 5600-series aren't that bad.
IMO, for Delta's cabin upgrades, I think the 5600-series should get PTVs with AVOD, while the 5500-series should get overhead LCDs. On both the 5500 and 5600-series 757s, the should get overhead bin extensions like the rest of DL's 757 fleet, and in addition, the 5500-series should get new PSUs.

The question becomes after this initial run of re-paintings - the 744, 752 (5600), D95, and A320, which aircraft are being repainted next. Will we expect them to keep rolling out repainted ships at this accelerated rate?
How long until we see an A330 in new colors?

Quick question will the NW 757 keep the 5500 and 5600 ship numbers or will it be like DL 600 - 6XXX numbers. I know the Airbus will keep the 3XXX and the DL 737-700 will be renumber since some of NW a/c have the same numbers.

The plan is, from what I can tell, to keep ship numbers the same on both sides.

Really? I find the 744 very stately, the DC-9 like a DL MD-80 that hasn't yet hit its growth spirt, and I just find the A320 kind of odd and awkward looking in the DL livery. I thought everything else so far looks better in DL's livery - but the A320 I definitely like better in NW colors.

I like the new Delta logo and font, although the font could be heavier. But...I find the overall livery design to extremely bland. I am a big supporter of simple designs and "less is more", but this is way too generic. The dark blue bottom swoop is weak and poorly executed, if they had brought it up so the bottom 1/3 of the fuselage was a blue swoop, it may have been enough to make a big difference, too bad...missed opportunity...
I will miss the NWA livery, by far one of the best liveries out there, just behind UA of course
