On 12/17 I noticed a 747-400 parked at UPS that I had never seen before. It was white, and had a solid blue tail, with no other markings.

Then, on 12/18, I see THREE 747s parked at the UPS ramp - 1 Southern Air, and 2 UPS (one old scheme and one new)

Just curious as to the why the apparent increase in 747 activity at the UPS ramp - is it just holiday rush?

And, can anyone identify the blue tail 747-400 I saw?

thanks,r

Or it could have been this one run by Atlas. I've managed to spot it at both HNL and MHR this year, so it was the first thing that popped into my mind

I'm still surprised i saw 3 74s at the ramp tonight - but still my guess would be cargo increase for the holidays

Definately Christmas cargo. According to another thread, it seems that UPS' big days were Tues-Thurs this week, and then next Tuesday. We've (MHR) been seeing an extra few flights/day here including a "day shift" that we never see. One of those has been a DC-8 which we never get out here, so I've been heading over there at lunch to go spot them while I can.

No doubt its Christmas lift. If you check out flightaware out of SDF they have 747s and A300s going to some pretty weird places. Guess you gotta follow the money lol.
