A De Havilland Moth carrying one passenger had to make an emergency landing soon after takeoff when its engine failed. Upon making an emergency landing in a nearby field, the plane's port wing grazed an errant cow. Fortunately, the aircraft sustained only minor damaged and the bovine emerged unscathed (as did the pilot and his passenger). See the video on Yahoo!

And that's exactly the reason why I feel that the A380 engine tests are incomplete, they need to to test them for bovine collisions as well!

It's nice to see the story attached to the youtube video though ... back at the time that thread was bouncing around we only had the video (and speculation) ...

And pretty much any kind of cow related pun you could think of ...  Smile

What's interesting is, watch carefully - yeah they hit the cow (having no idea at first what they DID hit ... you can see their heads snap around in sheer disbelief) ... but did you see how close they came to that telephone pole??? Yikes!

Thanks for making my weekend. I know many people were making jokes and at first I was laughing but after a while I was a little down.

If anything Chick fil A should start a campaign around this cow ASAP.

G-MOOO lives to fly another day. It takes more than a runway incursion to slow him down!

G-MOOO should be the airliner.net mascot!
