Several of these tail piece given to employees from a 747-251, N6622US, are showing up on ebay. I hope this photo and link show up. MUst be some employees that do not like them except for the cash they can get for them. Around 180 dollars.  old

This is sad for the employees of NW...... Granted its not much compared to what has been taken from management, at least its something unlike what employees of other airlines have ever gotten.

Shame.........

Hmmm .. does this show what some of their own employees think of their soon to be former employer? Maybe the 'loss' of NW isn't as big a travesty as some of the melodramatic queens on here make it out to be.

Seems like at least four others have put theirs up for bid, current bids in the $30 - $45 range but auctions are closing in 3-5 days so those bids are bound to go up.

In general, as more enter the market, the price will go down.

But even if they end up selling for half the first one, it's a nice chunk of change to have in your hands to help get through the holiday season.

Inspiration, move me brightly!

So what? If it's yours you can sell it if you wish. What is the big deal? Do you think that every one of the thousands of employees has a display case on the wall? Can't you be proud of your employer without having some sort of memorabilia on your shelf?

Anyone who complains about NW employees selling theirs only complains from the perspective of an airplane enthusiast. Not everybody thinks like that.

My current employer is the geographic institute at the university. If they start tearing down a building and give each employee a brick for Christmas, and I can get $100 by selling it on Ebay to a collector, heck I'd do it.

Some aircraft show "stored" when in fact they have been scrapped. The airfleet data is not usually up-to-date and it takes months for all the info to be loaded.

Just a shame allt of them are US-delivery only (as far as I can tell, anyway), I'd love to have a piece of memorabilia like that  Sad

Excellent conjecture. Let us use the example of one auction on ebay to represent the mean opinion of the thousands upon thousands of employees of NWA, past and present.  Yeah sure

No matter what airline you look at, there will be those that unconditionally hate it. If DL were being absorbed by NW and had done the same "piece of tail" collectors item, you can be guaranteed there would be DL tails for sale on ebay as well.

Whether they have worked for Nw for a week or 50 years its not a brick but a symbol of what
many employees at Nw have struggled through the years and i find it in poor taste
to pick up 50 bucks for a memento of the company you worked for.

No a lot of the ones that I know can't believe that they would do something like that. It is a rather cool piece when you look at it and its great that it was done, but many employee's feel that they should not be sold on ebay... atleast if you don't want it, give it to a family member that would.
