VA And Pacific Blue To Become "Virgin"?

I understand V Australia and Pacific Blue can't use the "Virgin" branding outside Oz because of an agreement with SQ....

1. If SQ sells its stake in VS, would VA and Pacific Blue be rebranded "Virgin Australia" and "Virgin Blue" respectively?

2. If this happens, why wouldn't DJ and VA merge into one carrier?

3. What would the new carrier be called?

this would be a bloodbath in terms of brand recognition and corporate identity. if there's any chance on name changing within the Virgin Group, expect that all the airlines under its mantle will be called something like "Virgin Airlines" or something similar.

Rebrandings are just bad in most cases.

Singapore Airlines - you're a great way to fly.

V Australia would become Virgin Australia so fast your head would spin  spin
Pacific Blue I'm not so sure.

I think it unlikely that DJ & VA would merge, as I don't think they would want to give up the Virgin Blue brand and they decided years ago NOT to use the blue/red joke outside Oz and the local Pacific area, that's why we have V[irgin] Australia, now.

V Australia is a witless name, but I understand the constraints. Concur with the above, Virgin Pacific makes the most sense.

The whole airline family could become Virgin A&P. A&P for Atlantic and Pacific.
