Any comments on this route? Is American Eagle's strategy to continue building up point to point routes(LGA-DTW, EWR-BOS)? Can thirty-seven weekly seats on a summer only basis be profitable to Continental's 300-weekly seats year-round?

I dunno about one flight every weekend. I don't really see how that could be profitable. I think the point to point service with the RJ's is good. It give the traveler more options etc. Thats what the RJ's are doing though opening up more routes (point to point and others) with more frequency.

Well, I hope Continental doesn't just let this one pass. When United launched flights to Boston and Seattle from Newark, Continental counterattacked with Chicago to the West Coast flights. Of course, both airlines pulled out of their new markets. Maybe a Dallas-Monterrey? How about Miami to San Juan? Chicago-White Plains?
