Good evening All
I wanted to ask if someone knows about a tunnel or a walkway between concourses at BWI behind security. I may happen to take a flight from there on FL which flies from concourse D and wanted to ensure myself against any massive queuing for security, i.e. can I pass security to concourse C or E and then get via tunnel or walkway to concourse D
Thanks a lot

Nope, no connectors available planeside between any of the terminals. You must clear security in the terminal your flight departs from.

The Airtran / US Airways terminal has never been a tremendous difficulty for me - sometimes during the early morning bank, it can wrap around the corner - but I've never waited more than 20 minutes.

Did they do away with the connector between C & A/B? That was always a short cut when security was lined up out the door at the A/B Checkpoint.

Cheers!

Yes, BWI's A/B-C connector temporary walkway was removed a few years ago, after Southwest moved out of C and consolidated all of its operations in A/B. Concourse D was never connected to C. To enter Concourse D, one has AFAIK always had to use its checkpoint.

I use Concourse D eight or nine times a year, at different times of day. Like RafflesKing, I have never waited more than 20 minutes at its security checkpoint. Usually I wait about 10 minutes. If I'm going at a rush time, I allow a half hour just to be safe, but have never had to use that full amount of time.
