Hello and happy holidays!
I want to know if someone can give me some advice on spotting the Qantas A380 arrival this week at LAX. I’d like to watch it land. The only spot I’m familiar with is by the In N Out. Does anyone know if that is in fact the runway it lands on? If it comes in on the other side of the airport, can you advise a good place to spot close by? I show a Friday 7:30am arrival of QF93 from MEL.

Either go near the Proud Bird to watch it, or go to Imperial Hill. You can see it approaching off in the distance if the weather is nice, but you can't actually see it touch down; however you do get to see it roll out and then turn around and taxi to the gate from RWY 25L.
Here's a link to the map.
So, will there be two QF A380's on the ground at LAX at the same time? And when does SQ start their A380 flights to LAX? Would be great to see a few different airlines on the ground at the same time. Love to see photos if anyone can get them (and post).

Another option to capture the A380 is go to the Sheraton Gateway Hotel, take the elevator up to the 12th floor, any higher and you need a room key to over ride the system. At the end of each hallway there is a rounded window overlooking the airport grounds. I stayed there Nov, 6th through the 8th and was on the 14th (really 13th floor) but like many other hotels they will not mark it the 13th. Anyway I had seen that Qantas was flying the A380 in at around 9:20 a.m on the 7th, so I hung out in my room which faced the City/Hollywood sign and covered the arrivals on to runways 24L and 24R.
I heard the A380 was being brought in to runway 25L, so I grabbed a camera, and ran to the other end of the hall to catch a few shots as she came in.

I tried going to the rooftop parking at Longs Drugs in Westchester on Christmas Eve at noon to do some spotting. I was approached by the FBI because he said he received notice of a suspicious looking character. The agent was civil, but he did ask me to leave the premises and to go to the In N Out instead if I wanted to watch the planes.
