DL 777 And MCO

For the last few days DL has been bringing the 777 for an afternoon flight into MCO from ATL....Is this short term just for the holidays??? or is something else going on?? oh the memories...
Can any of our Delta friends enlighten me please...thanks!

Probably due to a 764 going down for maint.

The 772 is actually a downgrade in number of seats if the 764 is a domestic configured bird.

764 - 287 pax
772 - 268 pax
77L or new 772 config - 276 pax

Could also be that there has been a decrease in the number of international flts the past week due to the holidays and so there may be a 772 spare sitting in ATL.

IIRC, a DL 777 was a regular at MCO in the past, when did that end? Did it not replace the MD11 that was being sent there?

They will get another 6 777-200/LRs in the first six months of 2009.

Wasn't aware of that either. I actually never saw the T7 in any other FL city other than MCO. However, I could be wong; I don't have first hand knowledge.

I think they showed up in TPA ocasionally. I DO remember seeing some, but I think they weren't really daily.

I used to love to non-rev on the T7's that went from ATL-JFK via MCO and catch another T7 from JFK-ATL via MCO. Those loads between MCO and JFK were sweet. Business Eliete all day long!
