The flight QFA7554 is on flightaware.com right now. As far as I know Qantas does not fly to ORD. And having HNL as a destination is a little weird too. LAX would make sense. Short hop to ORD than back to LAX to load SYD bound pax. But HNL? Can it be one of those charter flights as QF does in Europe for cruise ship pax?

This comes up once a month at least - it's an Atlas Air lease.
Short of a diversion of 107/108, you will never see QF metal at ORD.

It's a cargo flight. They park at the southwest cargo ramp.

That's actually incorrect mate. First DFW then ORD is on QF's North American expansion plans. Of course, there are a multitude of variables, including but not limited to the global economy and amount of frames QF receives, however QF will eventually fly to ORD.
NZ certainly will as NZ's FYE has specifically stated they want to fly their B787's to ORD.

It usually does ORD-TOL-HNL-SYD but I heard BAX is on a 2 week shutdown here after Christmas with relation to the automotive shutdown. Can anyone confirm?

Quoting AAH732UAL (Reply 7): Not sure about BAX but this flight is a separate flight. The ORD-TOL-HNL-SYD is QFA7552
Duhh....I thought it may have just bypassed this week as it didn't come in Saturday or Sunday this week.
Duhh what? Your the one that asked and I gave you an answer........ look the the history of QFA7554 and you will see this is a separate flight and not a one time thing.
Plus QFA7552 didn't come to TOL this week but the ATN/Cappy Cargo operations are sorta going on as normal so I doubt BAX is closed, maybe just a slow down.
