What Happens With Martinair?

I just want to know more about Martinair, are they in financial trouble or just tell me what is the problem
with this airline? I heard that they will stopp with pax flights and switch to all Cargo flights is that true?
Please provide me with more information on that topic, thanks

I think KLM will swallow Martinair when they get approval from the EU. The future? I do not know yet. There are a lot of new coming dutch airlines aslike Dutch Bird, Vipair and the restarted new Air Holland. Quiet busy for a small country, don't you think too?

What will become of Luxair, Luxair? I'm glad they have Mr. C. Heinzmann as their new President Director. He will mange it to get Luxair on the profitable track again. Ghosh, how I would like to upgrade Luxair's colourscheme design and airline logo...!

MP are quite a smart airline. They switch cargo aircraft to pax config during the summer, and then back to cargo for the winter season. They lost a lot of money in the US on long-haul routes, as well as some Caribbean destinations. They are marginally lower cost than KL, so have their use for KL to penetrate some of the more leisure routes.

KL has been using some MP cabin crew to crew some of their 767 services of late (shortage of KL crews, so they say).

MP's cargo operations are pretty profitable.

Hi Air Orange,

Yeah I hope that they will upgrade their old design in the near future too but they are
very conservative in my ex-country  Smile/happy/getting dizzy I heard that the new President of Luxair will
not go into an alliance in the future but to be honest I think that they will get into big
troubles if they do not so.

I hope that MP will survive because I flew several times with them and it was always
a success

Don't know much about Martinair except seeing their 763s a couple of times. I know that this summer, they're temporarily replacing KLM's 763s on the AMS-YVR route.

As far as my info goes, the B747's and MD11's will remain freighters this summer, and maybe even for years to come.
All the pax flights will be done with their 767's. They also have 2 757's which they took over from the early Air Holland, but they don't seem to be satisfactory to Martinair, so it's not unlikely that they will be removed from the fleet.

So what I think is they will expand their profitable freight services and just keep a few profitable pax routes like Florida, Dominican Republic, Cuba (?), Fortaleza (Brazil) and Mediteranian charters service.
