During the Return of the Spice Girls Tour last year, one of Virgin Atlantic's B747's (G-VFAB) was renamed 'Spice One', and signed by all five Spice Girls. However, on the V-Flyer website, it says the aircraft with this registration is called Lady Penelope.
Was it just a temporary thing whilst the tour lasted, or is it a permanent thing which hasn't been updated on the V-Flyer website?

Quoting Viscount724 (Reply 2): Yes, just temporary. Do a photo search for that aircraft and you will find recent photos showing the Lady Penelope name.

This was also the same aircraft that had been temporarily renamed 'Birthday Girl' to mark the 20th Anniversary of Virgin Atlantic Airways. It was however changed back to Lady Penelope once the festivities ended. The aircraft did however sport the extended decal of a lady on the tail which is still there as far as I know.
cheers,

I'm all in favour of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let's start with keyboards.

Did the Spice Girls actually charter the aircraft whilst they were on tour or did they just use it on the LAX-LHR scheduled flight when they signed the aircraft?
