Heard this report on the Rush Limbaugh Radio show last week on the 27th of August, that the FOX-TV Channel will be crashing a real 747 to show the effects, supposedly live! Don't know all the details, but would be interested to know more on why! And Where it is to occur. Anyone know anything on this?

My only question is why.....is FOX that hard-on for ratings? I could understand if this was a FAA idea to maybe test a certain design, they did it to a 707 to test a fuel additive but i think the test failed. Anyways. so far it seems as if it's just for ratings. With aircraft crashes being televised almost instantanously across the world by the media do we really need to see a live preformance? After this what will Fox try to pull off next. I really wonder what the executives up at Boeing are going to think about having one of their plane being puroposely crashed just for show.

I totally agree with VIflyer. I can't believe they want to destroy a 747 on live TV. That's insane! They should use an Airbus! haha! Just kidding! :-)

FOX's next idea: explode a bomb at ORD, and see what chaos ensues?!
Come on...they can use the FAA's old footage...there's no need to crash a plane---especially for ratings!

Now hold on here... hasn't the 27th of August already passed???
Or did you mean the 27th of September? (a monday, usually a hard ratings night all around the major networks) Either way... it's either happened or it will happen. Or it might not
