Well tomorrow (8th Jan) will be the 20th anniversary of the Kegworth aircrash. Our local paper is running a series of articles this week featuring people who were there on the night and helped rescue passengers from the plane.
I remember being at secondary school, living 5 miles from the airport and hearing the news on the television.
My thoughts go to the families of the dead and injured and also to the flight crew who, although they made some fatal errors, managed to miss the village of Kegworth and avert an even bigger disaster.

I also remember this dreadful night and waking up the following morning to see the television news pictures on BBC Breakfast, terrible pictures of the 737 broken up on the motorway embankment...........................
My thoughts also today go to the families of the passengers and crew who didnt go home that night...............or indeed ever again.

Such a terrible accident to happen on British soil.
The Air Crash Investigation series of videos on this accident can be found on youtube... for all those that would like to watch the re-construction of what caused the accident
