Very interesting choice of the airport. I am sure there are plenty of slots in both DME and SVO. Vnukovo is not the best airport in terms of comfort and transportation to/from. Anyways always nice to see a new carrier in Russia, especially as exotic as Air Seychelles. Seychelles are very well served from Russia. If I am not mistaken both Aeroflot and Transaero are serving Male.

Vnukovo has great transport, with a rail link to city center. Plus the airport is not all that bad. I'd take it anyday. It's smaller and less hectic. Makes time go by a lot faster!

unless you mean Mahe I think you are confusing Seychelles for the Maldives.

Good news for Moscow however VKO seems like a really random airport to serve

My bad. I always confuse the two.

I passed by Vnukovo a while ago and back than it was not to my liking. I am sure things have changed a lot since.

It appears to be a Northern Hemisphere winter service only as the last flight shows as
March 28 2009
Speaking to Air Seychelles it appears that the last flight may be January 31 as their
flights are not open for booking from then onwards but anything is possible as last year
they announced flights Seychelles Maldives which many South African tour operators
booked -only to be cancelled before it started

Cheers!
Tony

Could be a semicharter service as well and they just sell some capacity on their own.

This is probably a semi-charter catering to Russian tourism demands. I would bet this would not last. Transaero can manage exotic routings because they have a solid distribution network which most non-Russian carriers have limited access to.

Sounds very interesting. In the Airliner World magazine of December 2008 issue, there were a trip report about Seychelles airports (SEZ and PRI) where you can find an exotic IL6 from Transaero awaiting new passengers to bring them to Moscow.

Gerard

The VKO-SEZ Sector is now planned to Tech stop in DXB,I believe this is just for fuel because if for any reason they had to Divert eg: a runway blockage they would not have the fuel to do so Ex VKO
