Does anyone if any middle eastern airlines that operate schedule services to chicago. I know Kuwait airways flies there, what are their pax loads like?. Also is there sufficient demand for services to ORD from the middle east, if so which middle eastern airline should start flights to Chicago?

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Appreciate any info

Read the thread cos Airliners.net capitalises every first letter - I thought you meant Middle East Airlines, as in MEA.

Kuwait Airways aren't a great one for connecting flights, they have well-timed onwards flights from Kuwait City to Bangkok and shuttle flights out of KWT to other Gulf cities but Emirates they ain't. I think they serve ORD via Frankfurt. The only city in North America they fly to from LHR is New York JFK.

Emirates will begin flights into Chicago once their A340-500s arrive. These flights should happen some-time in 2003.

SV are rumoured to begin the route in Sept using B777's.

But there again, they were rumoured to begin the route in September 2000, so believe it when you see it!

I was wondering when was Saudi Arabian planning to start serving Chicago (as they have some type of cooperation with UA ) . It would be good for pax travelling from Saudi Arabia to the states but SV isnt the best connecting carrier for the Middle East as they dont have good connecting times.

But I have a question Emirates also has a sort of codesharing agreement right with UA???????? Well thats what it says on the UA timetable . And in the SV timetable of last summer it said that they also had codesharing agreements on flights from NY to other US destinations.

I got excited for no reason, I thought you meant MEA (Middle East Airlines) commenced services to Chicago!

I hope they do expand, but maybe Boston would be a better city to serve considering they have a large Lebanese community I hear.

El Al used to fly 4 weekly nonstop flights on a 762ER to ORD from TLV.
But at the moment they fly only 3 times a week via NYC.
