Why does the new runway have all these restrictions? Are they only temporary, until the airport increases its number of movements? I heard its summat to do with environmentalists.
The new runway runs parallel to the exisiting one so the area surrounding the airport must be used to all the aircraft movements. Anyone got any info?

It is due to environmental reasons. Whilst the runways are parallel the new one starts about halfway down the old one therefore there are issues regarding noise. The airport is also quieter at this time so two runway use is unnecessary, this will change over time.

24L/06R is not being used between 1200 and 1500 they say for this year only .
I was there last saturday at 1400 and they allowed an Antonov design bureau An124 to land on 06R nothing else used it until 1500.
