This is directed to all the travellers to the Eastern Caribbean. Effective Saturday March 29, 2001 E.C. Express will cease operations to all destinations served. Officials at EC Express have decided to cease operations after a year of service due to the increased competition from other carriers who increased flights on the same routes and thus making them not viable. All holders of EC Express tickets will be accomodated on other carriers and all creditors to be paid.Technical staff who work with the airline will be moved to work with Air Jamaica Express who from all indications will seek to broaden their routes in light of EC's closure. Regular staff will be paid and arrangements for possible future employment be discussed.
