Kevin Costner finished a two day shoot in Turkey in a new ad promoting TK's new first class product. Seems like he is having fun, see how it comes out. It will be shown in 70 countries starting February. Just click on the play button to see the behind the scenes footage;

And they only had to pay him €1mil.

Interestingly he was not the first choice - that was Pierce Brosnan, but he was unavailable on short notice. But at the end things worked out well with Kevin Costner who has had a long time love and association with Turkey for many years.

Quoting TK787 (Thread starter):

A slight correction, the ad is not promoting just the first class but the whole TK Product.
I guess you are misled by the Turkish media who related both, the campaign with Kevin Costner and the arrival of the 77W at the same time.

The Ad with Kevin Costner is the continuation of the previous large Campaign when TK entered Star Alliance: Red Carpet Ad

TK presented now their newest ad. Although bad quality video, we have a sneak preview of it.
We will see it in better quality on local broadcasters starting 01Feb.

enjoy: http://www.airkule.com/default.asp?page=haber&id=5513

I really like the twist in the end! Though I really wish they had gotten someone else apart from Costner to do it! Brosnan would have been better for sure, but there are others as well!

Not bad. Suppose they must do something with the advertising budget!

In terms of film production this is an epic. To be able to shoot it in two days is pretty amazing especially dealing with a mega star.
It is pretty good I must say. Hope this will air in the US, it will definitely get some good response.

The ad appears to be really nice.

Though if you noticed in the end of the video, you could see him yell at the guy "Now where's my money!"

Would have been too expensive i guess, and they're not at such a low stage that they want to sell themselves for an airline commercial.

It's very impressive to see TK grow so much, even in these tough times.

Kevin still looks good for his age, though the hair is getting thinner and being combed creatively, though not as bad as "the Donald"

I understand a second commercial along the same "you'll feel like a star" theme featuring a female artist will be produced also.

I guess you are misled by the Turkish media who related both, the campaign with Kevin Costner and the arrival of the 77W at the same time.

Reading the comments of some people and their disappointment not to see the 77W, Turkish (Aviation) Media was really successful to combine the arrival of the 77W and the Ad with Kevin Costner.
The Chief Editor of Airporthaber (they claim to be the biggest source in Turkish Aviation) in his newest column writes about the "First Class Marketing" when TK presents their new Ad. I wonder if those people are looking for sensations or if they do a little research and write objectively whats going on in the aviation world, at least they should read their own articles to learn something.
Another Columnist writes that only 6 (six!!) Airlines in the world offer First Class, and TK is now one of them?????

I think the more such websites write such stupidities, the less they are reliable.
Finally a prime example (in Turkish only): http://www.airporthaber.com/v3/readnews.php?newid=10113

Title "Karlitekin: Not a First Class promotion"
Subtitle: Oscar-Awarded Hollywood (? extension of his name??) Kevin Costner Arrived in Turkey to promote TK's First Class

In the text lots of contradictions although Karlitekin emphasizes that the promotion has nothing to do with the new planes and the F/C cabins on it.
