I was wondering,
What callsign was used for Bush's last flight out since at that time he was no longer president?

No, it was SAM (Special Air Mission) and the tail number for the aircraft. As of noon, President Bush became a private citizen.

Wow! Some particularly vicious comments about Boeing being inferior there...definitely not any a.netters posting there - just clueless individuals with WAY too much time on their hands!!

I wish there was an official name for the 747's that are usually Air Force One on long distance travel - they are magnificent aircraft that deserve to be spoken of as other than "the planes that become Air Force One when the President is on board".

The Boeing White House perhaps?

Haha that's a good one
I guess by regular purchase procedure they have to get all different offers including from airbus, but and the end of the they they will go with Boeing, since that might be a few points less for the president for choosing a foreign airplane instead of an American.
