So I have noticed that quite a few airlines are getting twitter. For those of you who dont know what twitter is, it's like a status update online, you can follow other people and see what they are doing and have little twitter chats. It was kinda made famous by all the celebrities that use it as a way of "talking" to their fans. Twitter also works well with iPhones so that has helped its growth.
But, back to the airlines. As far as I know Alaska, Horizon, Jetblue, Virgin America and Southwest, British, Qatar, Tiger, and Air France are the big twitters so far. So my question is who runs these twitters? They have to be "official" otherwise Im sure the airlines would quickly shut them down. Also, do you guys think this really helps their business? I personally think its pretty cool, and a good way to get their name out there for free. Also if you know of any other airlines with a twitter post it here.
