Global 5000 Crashes Into Airport Fence (Pic)

A Bombardier Global 5000 test aircraft crashed through the airport fence in Wichita while conducting static engine ground runs.

No injuries and no precisions on the accident yet.

Thank God the crew are safe. This may be due to the fact that they went through a fence and not a blast wall.

The article does not state whether the chokes were in place. I hope they were or else lessons learned at Airbus were not applied here.

I flew on that one a couple years ago out of STP....quite an airplane, at least it was. As stated it was their demonstrator that flies all the airshows and business aviation events. Looks like they may have to fast track another, or maybe this one can be repaired. I suppose having a demonstrator with damage history is frowned upon. Any thoughts on this?

l doubt that a fence would render the plane any near a write-off. It's not like it was a big wall like that EtihadA340 went over. Probably a few nasty scratches though.
