Orlando FL - 24JAN09
It seems that a B6 flight from MCO to LGA experienced bird strikes on takeoff.
They aborted the takeoff and returned to the gate.
B6 changed A/C and departed 4 hrs late.
The Orlando TV news stations jumped all over this and ran with it
Because of the hysteria with the USairways flight in New York, we are going to see alot more of this I'm afraid.
Why does the news media think we have to know everything.

So since the event happened BEFORE the USAirways A320 I noticed there was no mention of the jetBlue A320 that hit a flock of birds while landing at JFK a month or so back. The aircraft received extensive structural damage....don't know how bad the engines took it.

I saw this yesterday on the local news, I guess we are going to see a lot of "Breaking News" stories for anything related to bird strikes over the next few weeks. The same sort of thing happened after the B6 incident at LAX as well. I did wonder how long it would be before we started seeing similar stories pop up.
Gotta love the media and their sensationalist reporting!

I can't count the number of times we have planes come back from bird strikes. Media acts like this is something new. There should of been attention on this a long time ago.
