Hello,
A few months ago, I saw N142PA at FLL w/o the tail, obviously being scrapped. Does anyone know who owns the airframe now?

I have no idea....but Its very sad that such a very long running airline had to come to an abrupt halt....Chalk's had ben the longest continuous running airline in the US......Werent they started in 1919 by Pappy Chalk's?

There have been some dismantled Mallards around FLL for a while. It doesn't necessairily mean they are scrapped. You'd be surprised how easy wings and tail can be re attached and the aircraft gets back in the air with certain smaller aircraft like the Grummans, DHC-6 and DC-3. If they destroy the wings, fuselage and cockpit, then it's the end of the story though.

nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?
