The wife of a business partner of SAA CEO Khaya Ngqula is part of a consortium that is in line to land a ZAR3.5bn (about USD350 million) catering deal with the airline. At least this time someone sat up and took notice and a government investigation is about to be launched.

The 3 A340-300 were leased to Jet Airways of India at an attractive price to SAA because at needed them in a rush for new service to LHR from India. so why the allegation in the times article?

Quoting Jfk777 (Reply 1):

Because SAA could have got a better price for the 343s than the Jet deal but the buddy system prevailed.

Howzit

Thank God for these allegations maybe SAA can become the quuen of the African skies again, with some decent and non corrupt individuals draining the life blood out of a what can be very profitable airline. No anger intended just love to see injustice turned into justice hopefully. Khaya Nkhulu does not have the best history in terms of ceo positions.Enough politics...

I hope SAA will return soon to the glory it was just a few years ago. It is really going down hill in the last couple of years.
