Memphis Remains #1 Cargo Airport

A lot of people, including the Memphis media, speculated that 2008 would be the year Hong Kong surpassed Memphis as the #1 cargo airport in the world. Apparently the world economy has put that on hold, as MEM has managed to hold onto the top spot for another year:

Impressive to show declines of only 3.8% (MEM) and 3.1% (HKG).

Most other airports have shown massive declines - some over 20% even!

Behind the headline 3.1% decline for Hong Kong are the following year on year changes:
  • January +9.1%
  • February +4.9%
  • March +10.2%
  • April +7.4%
  • May +6.8%
  • June +2.3%
  • July +0.8%
  • August -3.9%
  • September -7.5%
  • October -9.2%
  • November -18.7%
  • December -28.2%

    So you see the trend here. Someone has a monthly breakdown for Memphis?
