Hello,

I've been thinking is there any connection between the old/new Alitalia and Star Alliance?

As far I am concerned the new CAI (which is 25% owned by Air France-KLM) owns Alitalia and Air One but does this affects the alliance (Star Alliance or Sky Team).

Do you follow me?

Regards

Air One was never a member of Star although they have/had codesharing arrangements with a number of Star airlines ( and the LH codeshares operated by AP were , IIRC , permitted codeshares on Star RTW product ) , it seems likely that these arrangements will be terminated so that will affect various Star carriers , but the impact may be lessened as LH Italia grows ( particularly if the "new" AZ/AP continues to push pax towards LH through strikes and network cutbacks )

I thought AZ was a full member of Skyteam, yes?

Yes, and they still are.

The codeshares between AP and LH, according to some rumours, should expire in some weeks.

AirOne also codeshares with US Airways. US puts it's code on many intra-Italy flights op. by AP, while AP had it's code on some US operated flights out of Philadelphia (mainly between PHL and BOS).

I don't know if it's true or not, but I think AP also puts it's code on certain UA flights in and out of ORD.
