Norweigan Move Most London Flights To Gatwick

Based on the low fare finder on Norweigan's website, they will move most London flights from Stansted to Gatwick this summer. Currently most flights are at Stansted. Only Trondheim will still be served from STN. Gatwick will be linked to:

Aalborg
Bergen
Copenhagen
Oslo
Stavanger
Tromso

The trigger for this recent expansion at Gatwick seems to be collapse of Sterling, who used LGW as their LON airport. OSL/CPH/Aalborg-LGW are all former Sterling routes

Gatwick is seeing major changes at the moment, with the loss of Zoom, Oasis, Sterling, XL, Continental, AA, Oman Air recently but expansion by FR, Norweigan, BE, EI and the gain of Air Europa and Cimber Air

Any idea when these transitions will happen. I for one am happy for this change!

Last date for the STN flights (except Trondheim) seems to be 28th March, end of the winter timetable period

Should say Aalborg/CPH/Stavanger are currently not served from STN. Stavanger was moved from STN some time ago, and CPH/Aalborg only started this year. Its Tromso/Bergen and Oslo that are moving

Air Europa are taking over the Air Comet flights, using EMB-195s.

On a side note, they will also have a weekly charter flight to Gatwick this Summer, from Palma on a Friday morning. Their first season-long charter operation to Gatwick since 2004.

Gatwick is a great airport and these new connections to Scandinavia are another jewel in the crown. Sterling had dreadful flight times and outragious fares. Hope Norweigan will do a better job.

From OSL they will also increase from two to three daily flights. TRD will move from STN as soon as DY get more slots at LGW.
