Effective May 1st, it will be used on double daily BAH-LHR-BAH flights i.e. GF 7 / 2 / 5 / 8.

GF 5 arrives into LHR at 2100 and departs LHR at 2230.

With regards to FRA, capacity will be increased for the summer season to daily A 343s with the new F/J class product + 2 weekly A 332s compared to 9 weekly A 332s.

Good news.

Any news on the plans to use them to Bangkok?

Both TK and GF will re-unite these 777s to Terminal-3 at Heathrow, however as different operators.  Wink

Nopes...no plans for them to be used to BKK as these planes are meant for high yielding destinations that can sustain a large number of F & J class passengers.

Hmm, that's strange since the media (including Flight Global) listed Bangkok among its planned 777 destinations.

Quoting b742:
Gulf Air will put the 777 into service on the Heathrow route and Naf says the airline is considering using them on other popular routes such as Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. It is also looking at the possibility of serving the US east coast with the type.

Any news which GF aircraft will be the first to sport the new Gulf Air livery: 9W 77W, ex ME A332 or new GF A332. The new A330-243 to be delivered to GF in 2 month already has white engine nacelles in Toulouse.

That's good to hear. Will the cabins still have the 9W interiors? I assume so since they are better than GF's current interiors.

Yes. The understanding is that these leased B777-300ERs will keep the same 9W seating in all classes.

Will the B777s be used on short ME hops like BAH-DXB/AUH/MCT/DOH/KWI? That would be good for familirization (like QR) also demand must come in handy at times.

Still confusing..

All these are on a wet lease for a short term 4-24 months.

Since these are wet-leased aircraft, they will not be painted in the GF colours. They will retain the 9W colours, with a small sticker saying, "Operated by Gulf Air" similar to the leased A332s.

I agree with you, however, the aircraft leased to TK is in the livery of TK. Probably it is on lease for a longer period.

The lease period would be for 42 months. The aircraft would be on wet lease for first six months and for the remaining three years they would be on dry lease.

Yes BKK too gets a daily B 773ER which is a same plane service from LHR via BAH...departing LHR at 0930 and arriving back by 2100 the next day.

So the B 77W destinations in the summer season for GF are LHR, BKK, CAI, RUH and KUL.

SYD doesnt need to be launched as EK, EY and the Far East carriers are now well established there.

I rather have GF look at LOS, MAN, BRU, CMB and OSL.

You could easily say the same about Manchester; granted the Asian carriers aren't competing (other than SQ), but still Manchester has the likes of Etihad, Qatar Airways and Emirates nicely connected to their respected hubs.

I would personally love GF have another look at Birmingham (UK), they had originally planned to operate flights (through Gulf Traveller) to Birmingham, but later pulled out shortly after it was announced.

Yes but MAN unlike SYD caters to GF's core market i.e. Indian Subcontinent and BKK/KUL bound pax where as SYD would largely cater to markets where GF is not as competitive as EK/EY/QR are such as Europe and Africa.

BHX is lower yielding than MAN to begin with and for it to work, ATQ firstly needs to be an online station.
