China Airlines To Fly To VIE Non-stop

According to the CI's austrian website the taiwanese carrier plans to fly again non-stop from Taipei to Vienna 3 times per week with A-343 effective June, 1st.

was the traffic to AUH that bad??

or maybe the VIE-TPE traffic is so good? They actually started the route nonstop with the A343 and later went on to insert the stopover in AUH

Abu Dhabi is being dropped completely, second time CI are dropping passenger service form there, previouly they operated TPE-AUH-FCO with A340 that got rerouted via BKK, CI Cargo however might continue with their 744F to the Emirate as they did last time they stopped passenger flights.

wasn't part of the reason going via AUH was to use A333s when fuel price was high. and to think in the 80s they were running to JED and DHA several x /week!
