As I was playing around with JetBlue’s route map, I noticed that you can connect from LAX to BOG via JFK and vice versa. First of all to my knowledge B6 does not fly BOG to JFK non-stop, so my question is B6 planning on starting JFK-BOG or is this just a mistake?

Quoting Contrails15 (Reply 3): JFK-BOG non stop is not happening. I mean, maybe you can get a 320 with an extra fuel tank but I don't see that ever happening. SJO is also thru MCO and not JFK. Its all weight and balance.
Technically, you could fly JFK-BOG without too much of a problem. Its the BOG-JFK that would be the problem. The altitude of the airport combined with the fuel needed means the A320 would be too heavy to operate safely. The Orlando experiment is a very interesting one by B6. I am curious to see if they get a lot of through traffic on the BOG route from New York.
