I know a lot of people have been asking and waiting, sooo...

By the end of March we will see a 767-400ER in the Skyteam special livery. No leaks on what it will look like yet.

And no, this is not a rumor. It is fact, however I can not state my source for privacy reasons. If you choose not to believe me, that is your choice. But come the end of March you will see.

Do you happen to know which specific aircraft will be getting it? I know that there is currently one 764ER (N828MH) that is currently recieving the interior mods, including the Thompson Vantage flat-bed seats in BusinessElite. I know the mods should be completed by March, so perhaps it will get the SkyTeam livery shortly afterward.

Looking forward to seeing it. I hope that it won't have billboard titles across the fuselage. A little more originality would be appreciated.

more than likely it'll be this bird. Could be the 2nd one getting the new C seats though. I'm going to assume they will also try to paint one in the burning widget for PR reasons.

yep.

That's a good question. I do not know yet. DL management may not even have figured it out yet. Ship 1804 would make sense if it's done on the inside in time. But we will see. If I find out anything more, I will post it.

Hopefully they'll get more creative than Star and Oneworld. IF they were smart, they'd put it on a 744, 330 or a Deltaflot a/c to kill 2 birds with one stone.

Why is your source willing to tell you, but does not want anyone else to know? Is it some sort of national security kind of thing?

What about a 772LR? The 772LR is considered Delta's flagship. While the 744 is a larger aircraft, an airline's flagship is not always the largest aircraft in the fleet. Delta never really considered the MD-11 their flagship, for example.

I am guessing the reason for choosing the 764ER to have the SkyTeam livery is because it will initially be Delta's premium aircraft to Europe, as they will be the first getting the Thompson Vantage flat-bed seats in BusinessElite. I know that the aircraft that will be painted in SkyTeam livery will be among the first batch of 764ERs that will get the Thompson Vantage. The A330s probably won't get them until later, as they already have angled-flat seats in WBC.

Sorry... forgot to add the 77Ls. My whole point is that they should paint a plane that comes from the factory or is in an old paint scheme... like the 744s, 330s or anything Deltaflot. Call it what you may, the 747 is still the queen of the skies.

But the 764ERs are all currently in Wavy Gravy/Deltaflot.

I'm not sure what you're asking.

If you mean, why would he tell me and not everyone else? I never said it was secret. Anything I post here or on my site is non-confidential information.

If you mean, why doesn't he just post it himself? Well that's because he's not currently a member.

If you mean, why doesn't he want to be known? Like I said, that's for privacy reasons.

If you mean something else, please let me know.

The limits that bound what information I can and can not give out has nothing to do with national security. Mostly it has to do with competition.

Yea I'm just as confused as 1337 is. Azjubilee - what exactly was your point since we know the Skyteam will replace one in the old paint.

That's great news, can wait to see it.. The only thing left now is for SkyTeam to actually grow since CO is leaving.

What information are you looking for? I DID tell you by posting this thread. What more do you want to know (other then the exact ship, which I don't think anyone knows yet)? And I didn't take your remark as humorous. Hence why I answered in a straight, non-sarcastic way.

So what are the plans? Is it one of each type in each respective SkyTeam airline's fleet that will be painted in the livery?
