Got a great sneak peek for everyone regarding the new USAirways.com that we have been waiting for so long to see. I think it looks amazing. Well organized. I'm sure the IT portion will also work as beautifully as the website.
The Tempe folks have been working arduously to make this website one of the better ones out there. I for one, got very excited when I found out there will be a feature showing 30 day flexible calendar like the old pre-merger USAirways.com. In addition, DM frequent flyers who like redeeming on Star partners will be happy to know US Airways plans to be the 3rd airline in the alliance to allow online booking of Star Alliance partner awards. (After ANA, Air Canada). Let's see if this will all be available on day one of the new website. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Goes to show, everything is turning for the better- on a daily basis!
#1 on time for 2008 from big six. Customer service rating getting better and soon (if everything goes as planned) #1 best airline website in USA. I see it coming. I really do.
Anyway, back to the sneak preview. Getting there is a little interesting, but here are the full directions for those that are interested:

One thing that was sort of annoying with the route map was that, when you select "show nonstop routes from Seattle" (for example), it shows SEA-DEN. But if you click on it, it says it's a one-stop, direct flight. If you want to view nonstops, it should only display nonstops.
I agree, too, that I liked the other route map slightly more, though this one is probably fine.

I like the new site and look forward to seeing it launched. One thing interesting that I found on the route map was when I clicked on non-stop flights from Charlotte.
I know US announced new service from CLT to CDG and while that route is not shown on the map yet, there is however a non-stop flight shown from Charlotte to Rome. I don't recall hearing any announcement regarding that yet. I hope that's not a mistake. That would be a great addition for CLT.

Look around the old site some more. You'll quickly notice the new version is merely a new, nicer frame around existing material. Albeit, the route map is slightly different than the one on the web now.
Its not a total revamp, just a new frame!,

At this time, Rome (FCO) is only served from PHL. US Airways was interested in a CLT-FCO for Summer 2009 route; however the landing/departing slots they received were way too early (if I recall correctly- arrv in FCO around 4:30AM, leaving FCO back to CLT around 6:30AM). Way too early! Maybe we will see FCO from CLT during Summer 2010?
