All availability for AI 144 EWR-LHR and AI191 LHR-EWR has been removed from the GDS from 28MAR onwards. However, EWR-BOM still appears as a one-stop flight. Does anyone have more info? I have many pax booked on this flight.

I suppose that makes sense considering FRA is a Star Alliance hub and AI plans to join Star Alliance soon. I hope AI puts the 77W on this route as their 744's are old and not competitive with LH and CO's product.

So Star Alliance will have the following nonstops:

LH JFK-FRA
LH EWR-FRA
US PHL-FRA
AI EWR-FRA
SQ JFK-FRA

Is there a risk in your opinion guys that the Star allies may end up shooting themselves on the foot by bringing down their yields between NY/NJ and FRA???

Next flights: MEX-GRU (AM 77E), GRU-GIG (JJ A320), SDU-CGH (G3 73H), GRU-MEX (JJ A332).

I completely agree, its crazy, why FRA? yet there will remain NO star alliance airline operating the ever popular LON-NYC routing! Its very annoying being based in London. I cannot understand why UA do not revive it, or BD, or even LH now they are gradually moving into LHR!?

Shame to see AI off the LHR-EWR route. FRA is certainly getting over kill for all those flights in this current climate.

LOL. As I clicked the "Send Message" button I knew I was forgetting something and I just could not figure it out, hehe.

You are right buddy, thanks for the clarification.

The EWR-LHR flights are operated by 744s. The inflight service is nothing great to write about. Besides, most of these planes are really old. Given the choice of airlines on the route, I don't think AI would have been in the top 3 or 4. Had AI been using their 777s on this route, probably things would have been different.

This level of Star services pales in significance with the extent of traffic and options available EVERY DAY on the LHR/LGW- EWK/JFK route.

So what that STAR partners Singapore and Air India add some capacity to the core DLH service and soon to be joined by COAs Newark routes within STAR.

You will soon have chose to fly *A from LHR using COA (Currently Sky Team), OneWorld BA/AA and Sky Team DAL/AF plus non alliance VS with Multiple daily flights and Kuwaut Airways X3 weekly).
The route is already a blood-bath with falling elite traffic due to recession and excessive competition.

New YORK is not a UAL Hub and bmi would do well to stay clear for some time (If the TATL routes are restored out of LHR expect ORD/IAD to connect with UAL) and anyways DLH will be routing ALL mainland Europe traffic through FRA/MUC/MXP for the vastly better range of connections available. LHR is becoming O&D based with simple regional connections (within the UK by bmi/BA) that the way it is .
