I was just curious as to which aircraft has the best possible climb rate. I flew jump seat on an ferry flight from MCO to STL on a TWA 757 which I must say was unbelievable. You guys have never felt acceleration or a climb rate until you have been aboard a empty 757. As soon as our 6 second takeoff roll ended the vertical speed indicator was pegged at over 6000 ft+ a minute. If any of you can beat that lets hear it  Smile
Take care

My experience was on one of our 757's also as a ferry from LA to Vegas. After a seat of the pants accelleration and about 2000 feet or so we went up like a rocket and got to 10,000 in about 2 mins or so and got to our cruise altitude of 28,000 a few later. when we landed we performed a short field slow approach landing stopping in about a little over 2000 feet once we touched the ground. I enjoy ferrying aircraft it makes me think of my airforce days.
