Cyprus Airways announced that they have signed a Letter of Intent with an Irish company for the lease of two A320 aircrafts for the period of 6 months with a right for renewal (on behalf of CAIR) of the one or both lease contracts under the same terms for the period of 12 or 24 more months.

The announcement does not give any details as to which Irish company is involved (AWAS?) neither it gives any details on the age of the planes or if they will be brand new.

With this move CY are hoping to reduce the delays caused last Summer by the old A320s that were delivered in 1989.
