Sad news for the Australian aviation community today.
Pip Borrman has died moments after tafeoff from Shepparton Aerodrome
Pip was performing for a photo shoot in his new aircraft in preparation for the Avalon Airshow. It is believed his aircraft suffered mechanical failure
There is a memory i will never forget it would have been roughly 8 years ago, we were standing on a private airstrip just outside of Yarra Glen, Pip was headed for a display in the area in his edge 540, Pip spotted us on the airfield and gave us our own personal display, his full airshow routine.
When i heard on the radio this afternoon that an aerobatic aircraft had gone down at shep i had a bad feeling, and tonight the news has confirmed it.

I saw him displaying at Richmond when I was in Australia back in October 2006 (and heard him as well -- he did his own commentary). That was a special occasion for me thanks in part to him. Very sad news.
