What's the difference between the different ILS CAT landings? How many are there? Do they stop @ III? I think it depends on certain minimums.

Short version...
The flight crew must be certified to perform higher category approaches. And, yes, Cat III approaches have MUCH lower mins (right down to 0-0) than a Cat I. No, it doesn't stop at III... not really. It goes:
CAT I
CAT II
CAT IIIa
CAT IIIb
CAT IIIc
with CAT IIIc having zero-zero landing mins, and a requirement for specialized flight crew, instruments, and manditory autoland.

Thanks a bunch! BTW, doesn't Alaska Air have the registration N...AS? I'm not quite sure, but I believe they have a hub in SEA?
