They just changed it after the merger a couple of years ago. I don't know what it could be. A Star Alliance logojet maybe?

You say their first A330-200? I thought they had both the 330-200 and -300 already? Would another new livery really surprise anyone the way things are going.

Our first A332 is indeed in Tolouse... but haven't heard anything about a new livery.

New Livery??

It only changed 2 years ago to the one that's on their aircraft now.
Could it be a retro jet or special livery for some occasion?
If it were a new livery there would have been major talk about it now no doubt!

By new they mean the current "Swoosh" style.

Keep in mind, that pre-merger US Airways also placed an order for the A330-200, though by delivery time (2009), the airline merged, so the new livery is the "Swoosh" blue, red and white style.

I seriously doubt there is a new livery being done...their current livery looks nice in my opinion. Furthermore, why spend the money in this current economy. Perhaps a special livery...I would love to see the 80s livery on one of those jets Big grin

Hopefully it's in Star Alliance livery.  Smile

Since the company had decided to go all IAE on the narrowbodies it only made sense for them to go RR on the heavy jets. Not to mention, I'm sure they are not a fan of the PW4186s. I can no longer count how many flights I've seen go mechanical due to some part on those engines going bananas. Seems like every other night they have a cowling open on one of the A333s. I know I've read there was a big problem with that whole program of the 41XXs - makes sense to me to switch to RR.

On topic, the company had stated that is was thinking of doing a Star Alliance scheme on one of the new A332s. I knew one or two had to get it (some 75s that carried the livery have been retired within the last year). I just didn't expect 279 to get it... if that is indeed what the reports are showing.

Right. Is it wearing....

A NEW LIVERY.

Or

THE NEW LIVERY.

Not as many as you think. At the time of this posting, ALL of the Boeings in US' fleet and the A330s are in the new (2005) livery. The only old (1997) c/s in US' MAINLINE fleet are some A319s/320s/321s.

Actually, the intent was to be a blend of US' 97 and HP's 96 schemes.

One could also refer to it by the year it first rolled out... 1997  wink

Of course it is not going to happen. When they announced the 5 retro jets, it was immediately decidied that nothing else would be repainted in retro themes (no MetroJet, Mohawk or All American).

I wonder if there will be a 6th retro livery of the 1997 Navy color. They could keep an A319 that is currently in best shape and not repaint it. I mean they did that with the one AWA 1996 livery A319 which is the 5th retro jet, aside from PSA, Allegheny, 1983 AWA colors and Piedmont.
