Maybe I'm losing it as it is late in the day. I was looking at Cathay Pacific's sched from JFK to Hong Kong. Three days out of the week it departs 9:15 and arrives at 14:25. The other four days it departs at 10:15, an hour later, but arrives at the same 14:25. I noticed something similar on a few other airlines. All nonstops. What am I missing

You're probably looking at schedules overlapping this weekend. JFK times reflect the change to Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, March 8. HKG stays on the same time year round so the JFK times will change by an hour starting on Sunday.

checkmark  CX operates on HK time, and would want services to be the same at HK, thus changing times at JFK. On US airlines, they would keep the timing the same at local US airports, thereby changing the arrival time at places like HK. I hope that made sense.

Bingo. I didn't realize DST started this early. In my day it was later in April.
