They must be. FAA OIS is showing only an acceptance rate of 30 per hour. Last time I looked winds were 250 @ 25G31 which could still use 22R but probably reaching a maximum of the crosswind component of most aircraft. Is 27R still closed?

This is turning out to be like what happened a few weeks ago. They were delayed by over 2 hours during the rush b/c of only having 27L. Plus 27L has an alternate missed approach procedure which just adds to the problems.

I have always wondered why they keep up the ILS and actually had the procedure revised for 27R if they are not going to use it ever again. I personally have not seen anyone use it other then taxi for at least the past 7 or so years.

The NW Worldgateway / MacNamera terminal, we often refer to it as the "Mac," named after a corrupt local politician.
The reason that the terminal could render 27R to be closed is due to the proximity to the runway. Honestly I have no idea if that has anything to do with it. 27R is a crosswind runway and it intersects 3 of the 4 parallel runways at DTW.
