Is it just me or does it seem that US may have dropped their application to GIG. There hasn't been much press about it and I didn't expect it to take this long. TLV was quick. Also, the minute they announced TLV, they added to their new destinations. They haven't done that to GIG.

The DOT hasn't decided yet is what I last heard here at A.net.

I hope we get it though, GIG would be a cool destination to visit.  Smile

As mentioned above, there's a procedure and only 14 frequencies are available for 2009, but CO/US/DL and AA together requested 24 frequencies, so DOT is on it's final steps to release the decision. In my opinion should be in no later than 2 weeks.

I expect US to be awarded with 7 frequencies for the end of year.

From what I have heard. The comment period ends on the 17th or 18th. Should hear shortly after that if US gets the slots or not.

DOT just announce that they propose given the right to US Airways to begin it's requested service CLT-GIG by October 1st 2009.

DOT is about to issue a final decision in no later than 3 weeks.
