I thought that the 1st of 7 new VS B744s was due to be delivered last month (March), but I've heard nothing.
G-VROS (English Rose) is due to be delivered 1st so will she be joining the VS fleet this month (April) or is she already with Virgin Atlantic?(although I'm sure she's not)

I to thought that the first of 7 747-400s was supposed to be delivered to VS last month. Hopefully somebody out there has an answer!

G VROS is here in Auckland being modified before commercial use. It departs on the 19th. 4 other VS 744s will arrive and also be modified.
G VGAL will leave here 19 May
G VLIP departs 11 June
G VROM departs 18 June
G VROY departs 11 July
I would think that these departure dates will mean they are flying back to London for immediate use.
Hope this helps

Thanks Aerorobnz.
What are the modifications and why do they have to be done in NZ?

777-500ER is right, they are still all in AZ interior specs from the cancelled order, so they are being modified into VS spec here. They are doing it here because it can be done so cheaply because of our poor exchange rate. AC is also doing their maintenance on their 744s down here.......it sure makes for good spotting, as neither airlines fly here usually.
